The Selene 42 EU is a logic further development based on the successful Selene 42 concept. She adds a complete new superstructure on the proven 42 hull design with i.e. her full length keel with a full protected propeller, her large rudder and cruiser stern which improves the sailing capabilities in the ever challenging following seas.
But due her size of less than 15 meter in length and less than 1.5 meter deep she is also perfectly suited to sail the inland waterways and big European rivers without needing any river-license.
As with her bigger sisters on the aft you find a comfortable covered cockpit with a standard SS stairs to her very roomy wide fly bridge. A Dutch door leads you from the cockpit to the very spacious saloon which gives ample room for a 5 to 6 seat sofa, two occasional chairs, a lower helmconsole on starboard and a roomy galley on port. The galley can be choosen as straight galley or as an L-shaped galley but it houses all required equipment with stove and oven, a full size refrigerator and her optional microwave and dishwasher. The owners cabin can be found in the front of the yacht and hosts a French bed. The guests have their cabin on starboard with twin single beds and on portside you find the roomy bathroom with electrical toilet and separated shower.
Access to the engine room is by way of a good-sized hatch in the saloon sole, and a fixed ladder that descends to a landing just forward of the main engine. There's plenty of room to reach the single main engine, the transmission, shaft and generator on all sides, plus filters, fuel management boards and supporting hardware.
JetTern's goal with the 42 EU was to creat a two-stateroom long-range cruiser in the med-40 foot category that provides comfort, seakeeping ability, and the latest in materials and technology. According the first boat tests: "Mission accomplished".
The Selene 42 is standard delivered with CE-certificate "B" (Sea going), European electrical installations (220V AC) and optionally with European galley equipment.
